about

Tony Award-winning playwright Christopher Durang explores the entertainment industry through biting satire and surreal comedy. At once a celebration of show business and a touching reflection on what it means to be an artist, we are offered snapshots of the eccentric and absurd.

Especially curated by 3 hearts canvas into a cohesive, stand-alone piece, the production includes the UK Premiere of some of Durang’s finest works, and is in itself a World Premiere.

THE LOWDOWN

With The Actor's Nightmare, we are so proud to have brought these 6 plays to the UK for the first time in what has been a World Premiere. We have paid all our artists and collaborators fairly for their work, in partnership with Equity. The majority of our cast were women. Our director was a woman. Our designer was a woman, our assistant designer was a woman, and our production manager a woman. Our show was seen by over 1700 people. We have raised over £400 for the National Autistic Society and increased awareness for their work. We have worked with love, generosity, and care for each other - this is what theatre is about. We've taken risks and created something bold and brave that has refuted what's hot and what's not trends - this is what 3hc is all about.
